Extra! Extra! New Clockwork Enigma update hot off the presses!

Hey all! Hope your March has been as productive as ours has! The ACE team has been hard at work this month ramping things up with Project ACE. Take a look at all the new stuff we've got going in the game, and, while you're here, why don't you download the demo, try it out, and let us know what you think!

Levels
  • New gray-boxed level to be used for the tutorial sequence
Movement
  • Newly added Crouch
  • Newly added Vault
Interaction System:
  • Items are now interactable in the following ways:
  •  Some items trigger a voice line and subtitles which reveal Kate's thoughts about that item
  •  Some items are inspectable which trigger a voice line and subtitles, and also are rotatable in 3D space
  • Investigation items now have a mini-game the player must win in order to "collect".
  • Kate will also provide some thoughts about the object after collection of the item via voice line/subtitle.
Scan System:
  •  Certain key items must be obtained/collected in order to progress the level. Kate "collects" these clue items by scanning them with her glove gadget. 
  •  When a player activates the scan, a red and green widget with a sliding bar appears on screen. The sliding bar moves up and down the widget. The goal is to click while the sliding bar is inside the green zones of the widget.
  •  Upon success, the player successfully "scans" or "collects" the item, and consumes a change.
  •  Upon failure, the player consumes a scan charge, but does not "collect" the item.
  •  When an item is scanned, it is "collected", and the counter in the bottom left of the screen is updated.
Audio:
  •  Voice lines that go with every interactable item in the game.
  •  Main Menu music.
Menus UI:
  • New starting menu with some basic graphics and audio settings.
  • Unique menu interaction that uses a vintage film-reel motif.
Items UX/UI:
  • Collected items counter to track successfully scanned items.
  • Integrated win state that is triggerable when all scannable items have been collected.
Art and Graphics
  • New, textured assets
  • Lighting and Fog

As a final reminder: Project ACE is still in pre-Alpha phases. This is NOT a full demo, it is a work-in-progress. Follow the project for regular updates about the game!
